DayStar Specialty Group experienced organic growth and expanded over the following years:
1993 - DayStar Specialty Group began service at the George R. Brown Convention Center as its DBA Cappuccino Express in Houston with specialty roast and gourmet coffee. Event sizes at the time ranged from 2000 attendees a day to over 48,000 at the International Quilt Festival.
1995 - Cappuccino Express provided catered coffee service for the Auxiliary of Texas Children’s Hospital for the Christmas holidays and then added a room-to-room coffee and sandwich service for parents and families of patients.
1996 - Cappuccino Express opened at The Wortham Theater whose patrons included the Houston Ballet and Grand Opera. Additionally, Jesse Jones Hall, home of the Houston Symphony, was added.
2003 - 2005 - Cash sales kiosks and hosted booth service operations opened in: Austin, Palmer Event Center, Fort Worth Convention Center, Will Rogers Equestrian Center, Earnest N Morial Convention Center (New Orleans), Tampa Convention Center, West Palm Beach Convention Center, and the Washington DC Convention Center.
2007 - Cash sales kiosks and hosted booth service operations opened in: Reliant Center and Stadium (Now NRG Center and NRG Stadium), Kansas City Convention Center, Bartle Hall Convention Center, and the Baltimore Convention Center.
